Support
Something not working, or a question we can answer? We’re glad to help.
Get in touch
Email support@pragmaphilia.com. It helps to tell us the app and its version (in its About box), your device, and its system version. We’re a small lab, so give us a little time to answer.
Beta testers
If you’re testing one of our apps through TestFlight, the quickest way to reach us is TestFlight itself:
- On iPhone or iPad, take a screenshot while the app is open and tap Share Beta Feedback, or open the TestFlight app, choose the app, and tap Send Beta Feedback.
- On a Mac, open the TestFlight app, choose the app, and click Send Beta Feedback.
Crash reports you agree to share come to us the same way.
Would you like to become a beta tester for one of our apps that’s in beta testing now? Write to us at support@pragmaphilia.com, tell us which app, and why you think you’d make a good tester.
Go book conversions
Publishers and authors: we convert printed Go books into SmartGo’s interactive book format, diagrams, move sequences, and commentary included, at a fraction of what it used to cost. The recognition behind it ships in SmartGo One. Write to support@pragmaphilia.com with the book’s title, its page count, and whether you hold the rights.
Word Salad Surgery
Why are there no definitions?
The definitions are written by Apple Intelligence, so it has to be supported by your device and turned on (in Settings, under Apple Intelligence & Siri). After you turn it on, it may take a while to finish downloading. Also check that definitions are on in Word Salad Surgery’s own settings. Without Apple Intelligence, the words still come, just without definitions.
Why did a word come without a definition?
Sometimes Apple’s model is busy (Apple limits how much apps can ask of it, especially in the background), or its safety filter declines a word. Then the definition fills in later, when the model can get to it, or the word goes out bare. The app says “No definition” under such a word; tap it (or hover over it on a Mac) to see why.
How often do words come?
About once an hour, give or take ten minutes, unless you change it. Set the timing in the app’s Settings, anywhere from a minute to a day. To stop them for a while, choose Pause Words; New Word still works whenever you want one.
Why don’t I see any words?
Check that notifications are allowed for Word Salad Surgery (in Settings, under Notifications, or System Settings on a Mac), and that the words aren’t paused.
