Space Flees 2100 is John Mifsud's remake of Space Flees, the game he wrote for DOS in 1987 and released as freeware in 1988 (the original, on the Internet Archive). It's coming to the Mac first, drawn in glowing color vectors.

  • The title page: SPACE FLEES 2100 in large purple neon letters, with a glowing flea, a starburst that says New and improved, and the line Press fire to play.
  • The chase view: the camera sits behind the ship over a glowing blue grid, with a crowd of fleas ahead and a radar map in the top corner.
  • Space Flees 2100 mid-wave: the ship at the bottom of the screen fires a laser up at a swarm of glowing neon fleas, with the shield gauge on the left and the Bug Bounty count on the right.
  • The queen fight: a giant flea queen in a crown, near the top of the screen, taunts the ship with a speech bubble while a jagged cyan bolt of lightning crackles across the screen.
  • A shockwave: a huge ring of purple and magenta light sweeps out from the ship across a crowd of fleas, some of them circled by little yellow stars.
